THE IDEA

HOW WAS THE EFSD ESTABLISHED

The idea of establishing the Economic Forum for Sustainable Development dates to 2017, when Professor Manahel Thabet, a Saudi Professor of Economy, specializing in financial engineering and mathematics, accepted a broad invitation from the directors of independent economic institutions to an informal meeting in the City of London. This took place in the UK in February 2017.

The EFSD was launched at the British parliament with the support of APPG as an independent forum. Many events were launched later on to support the direction of the EFSD.

STRATEGIES

WE AIM TO BECOME THE KNOWLEDGE BASE ECONOMY THINK TANK  by leveraging our expertise and resources to develop and disseminate new knowledge and ideas about sustainable development.

Our strategy is centered on three main pillars: research, education, and engagement.

First, EFSD is committed to conducting high-quality research on a range of topics related to sustainable development, including economic inequality, climate change, and economic growth. We believe that by generating new knowledge, we can better understand the challenges facing the world today and identify solutions that can drive positive change.

Second, at the EFSD we are dedicated to educating the public about sustainable development through our events, workshops, and other educational initiatives. By providing a platform for experts to share their insights and ideas, we aim to raise awareness and understanding of the issues at hand.

Finally, EFSD is committed to engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, including policymakers, businesses, and civil society organizations. By fostering collaboration and dialogue, we hope to drive meaningful change and create a more sustainable and equitable future for all.

Overall, our goal is to be a leading voice in the conversation on sustainable development, using our expertise and resources to generate new knowledge, educate the public, and engage with stakeholders in order to drive positive change.
